Las Vegas Shooting
After reading the article “After Las Vegas Shooting, A
Tight-Lipped Sheriff Faces A Maddening Case” written by Mitch Smith, Jennifer
Medina, and Timothy Williams and published by “The New York Times” it is said
that “Sheriff Joseph was in charge of one of the most frustrating criminal
investigations.” A man smashed out a window in a casino hotel and set fire to a
country music festival, killing 58 people and injuring hundreds more. A
question was asked by Sheriff Lombardo which said, “Do you think this was all
accomplished on his own?” Lombardo also feels like he had to have some type of
help. “He has had a lot thrown on his plate,” said Steve Grammas. He also added
that the sheriff has “had to pivot in 50 different directions.”
After
reading one of my classmate’s discussion on this topic, I would have to say
that she understood the article very well. She handled what the main point was.
I would have to say that she should talk more about why it was so frustrating
for Sheriff Lombardo. I would also add more about why Lombardo was so
frustrated with this situation.
I disagree with Sheriff Lombardo; you only ask questions when you have concrete evidence that others were directly involved. You can speculate all you want to, but Americans deserve the truth, not a spin tale.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Sheriff should have been asked more questions.
